Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. The first Broadway parts include Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. In her performance as Essie in You Can't Take It With You she won the Tony Award. Annaleigh has been collaborating on projects with award-winning directors, actors, and producers for most of her professional career. Ashford is scheduled to be as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani, as Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It premieres on the 22nd of November. Ashford's current film includes the Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust and he will be starring with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film will be aired on Disney DTC in the form of an Hulu Original. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford returns to Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton is the director of the show. Ashford played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is based on the scandal that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp during the national crisis. Ashford was a part of two seasons on the CBS successful comedy B Positive. The series was created by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. The show also had Ben Vereen and Elizondo. Other Broadway performances include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and her first role as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford is an Denver resident who splits her time in Los Angeles.
